Global Value Chain Specialist Nitin Dahad is one of UKTI’s Sector Champions, and provides UK companies with the global market knowledge and deep sectoral expertise required to make their products or services an international success. Helping SMEs to access global value chains when opportunities arise, he can add value to any international business proposition relating to consumer electronics, semiconductors, wireless technologies and communications. With 25 years sector experience, his network of contacts in industry, trade bodies, public sector and government will be of huge benefit to UK companies looking to break into the US market.
At CES, Nitin will be on the UKTI stand to support and meet executives from UK companies, to see how UKTI can support them in their growth plans for North America. Nitin will also be on hand at UKTI’s series of networking events (UK Technology stand, Central Hall, booth 14729), where expert speakers will discuss everything from “How to make a breakthrough in the USA” to UK thought leadership in audio and video technologies.
For CES, Nitin advises British technology companies to be mindful of the ‘noise’ generated by the consumer electronics giants. ‘The key to making an impact is to forget about the technology,’ he explains, ‘and think about how to demonstrate the benefit to the end-consumer that their product or service provides’. He believes that UK companies should really consider the way their technology differs from anything else available in the world market.
Nitin believes that the UK technology industry is particularly strong in the areas of entertainment, consumer and smart technologies. ‘I’m looking forward to talking to as many people as possible about the UK’s strengths in these areas,’ he says. ‘Our job is to make things happen for UK technology companies targeting the consumer electronics industry, and we can’t wait to get to CES and get to work.’
