Datawind, specialists in mobile web access, will be showcasing the latest in their line of wireless web products at this year’s CES Unveiled. Their aim is to present the recently announced UbiSurfer and Pocketsurfer 3 (pictured) to international markets, with a focus on the US in particular.
Datawind UK was founded several years ago based on a belief that the mobile web could be better delivered to the masses. In 2007, the Pocketsurfer2 was introduced to the British market, and was the first of its kind anywhere in the world to deliver free mobile web access. Through patented technology, the PocketSurfer2 could deliver the real web, as you would see it on your desktop, anywhere that your mobile phone worked, at speeds much faster than handheld devices of the time.
Datawind’s concept quickly expanded to markets in the 4 corners of the globe. Giving users the chance to manage their web usage by time rather than Megabyte consumption, users receive 30 hours per month free – they are able to surf the web wherever and whenever they like, without having to pay for it.
The Pocketsurfer3 is the latest handheld model from Datawind, while the Ubisurfer is the first netbook to offer free internet access in the UK and low cost roaming in Europe and the US. You’ll be able to see both at CES Unveiled, as part of the UK Trade & Investment CES showcase.
